Bird Haven

Perched on the Eastern Hills of Sausalito overlooking the Bay the property owners envisioned their new house as a haven for them and their feathered friends as well.

Their new house was to be built directly below the older historic house on the property and would impact their vista of the Bay by transforming a naturalized landscape for a metallic rooftop.

The owners being birding enthusiast envisioned an opportunity that could simultaneously preserve the vistas of the Bay from the older home while providing ecological habitat for birds to utilize.

The win-win solution was to incorporate a living roof on the new building.
