Living roofs on fitness and gym complex

Mayacama Ridge

Sited in the Mayacamas range of northern California an indoor basketball gym and an adjoining fitness center integrated low impact and sustainable development into the project.

Instead of flat roof planes composed of inorganic roofing material the project chose an eco-conscious fabric of life to inhabit the rooftops.

In addition, the living roofs were also designed as an inverted roof membrane assembly (IRMA). The living roof system was constructed upon a layer of ridged foam insulation which in turn was placed directly upon the roof deck waterproofing.

These types of living roof integrated design systems not only increase the building’s energy performance but also eliminates the potential for condensation issues that can occur in the closed cavity attics of flat roofs.

Yea to power of synergy.
