Sonoma Academy

A synthesis of built and natural systems takes hold on this technologically savvy academic facility.

Interweaving the building’s solar energy system within the rooftop landscape illustrates the power of stacking functions as one enhances the performance of the other.

Rooted in offsetting the building’s impact on the environment the rooftop is devoted to sustaining a biodiverse native California plant community.

Pollinator pond, mounded terrain and sun vs. shade microclimates provide a rich and complex habitat.
