Amy's Drive Thru - Corte Madera
It’s not "yellow arches" but colorful flower arrays and buzzing pollinators that signify AMY’S second restaurant location.
Positioned adjacent to a major freeway tens of thousands of drivers get to watch the plants growing and inhabiting the steep sloped roof. A large dormer intersects the western roof creating a topographical landscape with varying microclimates.
Beneath the vegetative cover the plant's roots and soil biome work effortlessly to help the building save on heating and cooling cost as well as mitigated stormwater runoff. Combining ground-based bio-swales and basin strategies with the living roof effectively achieved net-zero stormwater for the site.
